Explanation

I wrote down my own Explanation of How a Electric Automatic Pencil Shaperner works.

First, we needed to pick a topic, my topic is How an Electric Automatic Pencil Sharpener works.

Next, I needed to explain the relationships, I needed to explain when the Pencil in and Push pencil. My relationships were: When you put the pencil in, the motor turned on but nothing happened to the pencil” and “When you push the pencil, the motor turns on and the pencil sharpens.”

Last, I wrote down my summary. My summary were: The Electric Automatic Pencil Sharpener is important because it’s easier and faster to sharpen

I enjoyed this activity because I wrote down my own Explanation. I did well on explaining the relationships. I need to improve on thinking of a topic.

Te Reo

We learnt new Maori words.

First, Whae Odie held up the card and we needed to say the object in Maori.

Next, Whae Odie told us to choose a card. If Whae Odie said the card that we have, we had to give the card to her by saying “Anei.”

Last, we revised learning the movements, they are: maui, matau, raro, runga, roto, and waho. Maui means left. Matau means right. Raro means down. Runga means up. Roto means inside. Waho means outside.

I enjoyed this activity because I learnt new Maori words. I did well on knowing the maori words. I need to improve on remembering the movements.

American Football

We revised playing American Football

First, we practised throwing the ball.

Next, we played piggy in the middle in 3’s. There are 2 people who need to throw the ball at each other and one person is in the middle so he could try touching the ball. If you drop the ball and the piggy touches it, then you are the piggy.

Last, we played piggy in the middle again but in class. It’s the same thing but it changed, there are 3 piggys and there are 2 footballs.

I enjoyed this activity because we revised playing American Football. I did well on throwing. I need to improve on catching.

Online Dangers

There are lots of different bad situations like: Scams, Cyberbullying, Phishing, Posting Private Informations, Malware download, Predators and Regretful posting.

Predators are when adults pretend to be children to make you do inappropriate things. For an example: “Hi there, I’m John. How old are you? I’m 10. Do you like Fortnite?”Here is a possible solution: Block, Tell parents, and report to the admins and moderators.

Malware download is when ads or apps make you download software that makes your computer slow or steal information. For example: “You accidentally clicked an ad for a game you have never seen before.” Here is a possible solution: use a virus checker and delete.

Regretful posting is when you post something online that will cause trouble later in life. For an example: “Hi Jack. Do you want to come with me and Siale to the movies?” Mum says she will pick you up. Just post your address here and we’ll pick you up. Here is a possible solution: Be aware of your actions and don’t do anything that will cause problems.

There might be more bad situations around the world.

Film

We filmed a presentation video about Bees.

First, we needed to write down a script for our presentation video. The two parts I needed to speak are: “Bees are an insect with two wings that are related to wasps, which gather nectar from flowers” and “Bees are declining because they are having climate change. Diseases and people using pesticides are the main causes for their drop in numbers. People are not being eco-friendly and there are not many shelters for the bees.”

Next, we had to practise pronouncing the words until we have no mistakes.

Last, we started recording our presentation video.

I enjoyed this activity because. I did well on saying words properly. I need to improve on speaking a bit louder.

Possums Problem

I learnt information about the Possums Problem.

First, we needed to understand the text by using the Extended Discussion cards. The five Extended Discussion roles are: Leader, Comprehender, Opposer, Questioner and Clarifier. The Leader needed to ask any following questions like Who, What, Why, How. The Comperhender needed to answer the question by saying “I think…”. Then the Comperhender needs to pass the question on and say “What do you think…?”.  The Opposer must disagree with the most commonly agreed answers by saying “I respectfully disagree. I think…”. The Clarifier needs to check the group if they understand and say “Do we agree that…?.

Next, we needed to read page 4 and we had to answer the two questions, they are: “Why were the farmers and gardeners fed up?” and “How has herd testing and possum control helped reduce spreading tuberculosis.”

I enjoyed this activity because I learnt information about Possums Problem. I did well on being Comperhender. I need to improve on being Opposer.

Whale Tail

We drew our digital whale tail onto a paper.

First, we needed to practise shading to make the Whale Tail look like 3D.

Next, I needed to choose my colour. The colours I needed are Grey, Dark Black and Blue. I chose the colour Grey, Dark Blue and Black because it represents the colour of the whale and it represents sadness and the calmness of the whales. I chose to make a curve as a pattern because it shows the slow decrease in population.

Last, I drew my digital whale tail onto the paper. I drew some curves around the Whale Tail and I coloured the colours I used inside the curves.

I enjoyed this activity because I drew my own whale tail design. I did well on drawing and colouring. I need to improve on shading to make it look 3D.

Sequential Patterns

I learnt what was a Sequential Pattern.

First, we learned the difference between Patterns and Sequential Patterns. Patterns is something that is in order. Sequential Pattern is a something that keeps repeating again and again.

Next, we needed to create a sequential patterns of our own by using google slide, I needed to make a Shape Pattern, a Colour Pattern, a Object Pattern, a Letter Pattern, and a Number Pattern. I had to write down the questions, they are: “What is the patterns?”, “What comes next?”, and “What comes third?”

Last, we needed to create the answer slide for people to know if they got the questions correct.

I enjoyed this activity because I made my own quiz. I did well on creating my own sequential patterns. I need to improve on creating a confusing pattern.

SSR Selfie – Dragon Master, Howl of the Wind Dragon

I read a book about Dragon Master, Howl of the Wind Dragon

The story was about that An evil wizard Astrid cast her dangerous False Life Spell at last, bringing the bones of giant beasts to life! Drake and Rori need to find a Wind Dragon fast to undo the terrible spell. But the Wind Dragon and her Dragon Master are being held captive. Astrid and her army of beasts are on move.

I enjoyed this activity because reading makes me have a better grammar.
